First Financial Service Corporation is the parent bank holding company
of First Federal Savings Bank of Elizabethtown,
which was chartered in 1923. The Bank
serves the needs and caters to the economic strengths of the local communities
in which it operates and strives to provide a high level of personal and
professional customer service. The Bank
offers a variety of financial services to its retail and commercial banking
customers. These services include
personal and corporate banking services, and personal investment financial
counseling services.
The Bank conducts operations in 20 full-service banking centers and a
commercial private banking center in eight contiguous counties in Central
Kentucky along the Interstate 65 corridor and Southern
Indiana along the Interstate 64 corridor. Our markets range from the major metropolitan
area of Louisville, Kentucky,
including Southern Indiana, approximately 40 miles north of our headquarters in
Elizabethtown, Kentucky
to Hart County, Kentucky,
approximately 30 miles south of Elizabethtown. Branch locations are in Hardin, Nelson, Hart,
Bullitt, Meade and Jefferson Counties in Kentucky
and Floyd and Harrison Counties in Indiana.
Presenter - B. Keith Johnson, Chief Executive Officer - Keith Johnson was named Chief Executive Officer of the First Financial
Service Corporation and First Federal Savings Bank in 1997.Mr. Johnson also served as President of First
Financial Service Corporation and First Federal Savings Bank from 1997 to
2008.The positions of Chief Executive
Officer and President were split in January of 2008 based on the Company's
growth and strategic initiatives.Mr.
Johnson joined the Bank as Comptroller in 1993 and was appointed Executive Vice
President in 1995.Before joining the
Corporation, he was a principle in the accounting firm of Whelan, Johnson,
Doerr, Pike & Pawley, P.S.C.He has
been a licensed CPA since 1984.Professionally, Mr. Johnson is a member of the board of directors of the
Kentucky Bankers Association and the Community Bankers Council of the American
Bankers Association.He also belongs to
the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants.Civically, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Elizabethtown
Industrial Foundation, Elizabethtown Chamber of Commerce, Fort Knox Core
Committee, Kosair Children's Hospital Foundation, Better Business Bureau, and
the KY Chapter of the National MS Society.He is also a member of the Elizabethtown Rotary Club and has served in
various capacities with numerous other civic/charitable organizations over the
years.
Steve Zagar joined First Financial Service Corporation in April 2008 as
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Zagar
served as Senior Vice President of Finance for S.Y. Bancorp, Inc. in
Louisville, Kentucky; Vice President and Director of Internal for S.Y. Bancorp,
Inc.; Audit Manager for Fifth Third Bancorp, Inc, headquartered in Cincinnati,
Ohio; and Engagement Manager for Crowe Chizek and Company LLC in Louisville,
Kentucky and Nashville, Tennessee.Mr.
Zagar began his career as a branch manager with Fifth Third Bank in Louisville, Kentucky.Mr. Zagar received a B.B.A. degree in finance
from Kent State
University, in Kent Ohio; an advanced
accounting certificate from Bellarmine
University, in Louisville,
Kentucky; and a M.B.A. from Indiana University,
in New Albany, Indiana.He has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 2001 and is a
member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the
Kentucky Society of CPA's.
